The 8th International Yoga day 21st June 2022 was a special day for us at Kaldan Samudra – ECR Chennai. The Famous sunrise yoga at Kaldan Samudra is offered complimentary for all our residents, but this international yoga day we had several participants join us for the special celebratory session. It was a truly refreshing morning with a relaxing yoga session facing the iconic sunrise by the Bay of Bengal and a scrumptious breakfast after.
The world yoga day falls on the 21st June which is a very auspicious day worldwide as it is of special significance to several religions and ethic cultures. The International Day of the Celebration of the Solstice is also observed globally on the same day. The Summer Solstice is the shortest day of the year in the Southern Hemisphere and the longest day of the year in the Northern Hemisphere. There are a number of things that happen on the Summer Solstice. Firstly the summer solstice sunrise at which the sun reaches its highest point in the sky during the day. Secondly, the summer solstice sunset where the sun sets at its lowest point in the sky during the day. Finally, there is a shift in Earth’s rotational axis, which means that Earth’s North Pole moves towards the sun for a few weeks during the Summer Solstice.
The participants enjoyed a revitalizing yoga session conducted by our in-house award winning yoga teacher and were offered Kaldan Samudra special energy shots – concoction of fresh vegetables, fruits & herbs fortified with vitamins & minerals. The participants then were offered breakfast buffet with live counters serving up crispy dosas & South Indian delicacies as well as a wide selection of freshly baked bread, fruits and continental breakfast items.
